There are several mathematical functions, however SUMIF and COUNTIF are the two most commonly used mathematical functions. In this chapter, we will learn how to use these two functions.

USING THE “SUMIF/SUMIFS” FUNCTIONS

Let use the sample table given in the picture to understand how the SUMIF/SUMIFS functions work.

If we want to calculate the sum of a field based on some criteria given in another field, we can use the SUMIF function.

For cases, where we have multiple criteria, we can use SUMIFS.

We can make use of the same table which we used for Data Filters which presents the Quantity of Apples and Oranges exported by ABC Corp. in 2016 and 2017.
